FATHOM Extended Range Cave Diver

Class schedule

Upon successful completion of this course, divers are considered competent to plan and execute closed circuit rebreather cave dives to 30 m depth and 3,000 m penetration with up to 60 mins of planned decompression utilizing a diver propulsion vehicle, nitrox or helium-based breathing gas mixtures, and a single decompression gas.

Prerequisites

  • FATHOM Medical Screening
  • Dive accident insurance
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Certified FATHOM CCR Cave Diver with 25 logged CCR Cave dives
  • Certified DPV Diver through a recognized training agency with 25 logged DPV dives

Course outline

The Extended Range Cave Diver course is normally conducted over five days. It requires a minimum of six dive sessions and at least forty hours of instruction, encompassing lectures, land drills, and at least eight hours of dive time.

  • 2:1 student-to-instructor ratio
  • Maximum depth of 30 m
  • Maximum planned decompression of 60 mins
  • One extended range cave dive with at least 2,500 m penetration
