Is the increased intermediate pressure (IP) hard on the first stage seat?
No. In fact, the first stage seats have less wear since they are holding back less pressure, i.e., the differential between the tank pressure and intermediate pressure is lower. An increased intermediate pressure does require LP hoses rated for the higher working pressures and higher durometer o-rings in the oxygen MAV.
