Tim Blömeke

Instructor on: Mk III CCR

Born in Germany, Tim discovered his love of technical diving during a trip to the Philippines in 2013. It is a passion he has been pursuing ever since. The particular challenges of operating and maintaining a rebreather in a remote location led him to the Fathom Mk III. He trained on the unit as part of a cave diving pilgrimage to Tulum (Mexico) in 2023. Back in the Philippines, he has been diving the unit extensively and found that it lives up to its promise of outstanding reliability and simplicity of operation in a variety of conditions.

Tim has been teaching decompression diving since 2016. When not teaching or guiding, he can be found exploring the deep reefs of Oriental Mindoro, where he is based full-time, with occasional trips and projects to visit the various WW2 shipwrecks scattered about the Philippine waters. Besides working as an instructor, Tim is an editor for Alert Diver (EU), where he covers topics like diving safety and best practices, training, and hyperbaric science. He has also contributed to GUE’s InDepth magazine.

Tim teaches in English and German.
